15 Professional Mediation Training Participants Complete Training!
We’re excited to share that another cohort of 15 participants has completed our Fall 40-hour Professional Mediation Training, and are now trained in the art of interest-based mediation!
During this 40-hour Mediation Training – and what one participant describes as “The best 2-week long TED Talk ever!” -- Moonwater, our Executive Director, along with other certified mediators and staff, share their expertise, teach, and coach participants about the basics of interest-based mediation. Participants learn about conflict theory and the real and different ways in which people engage with conflict. They also provide participants with key mediator communication tools that assist in facilitating difficult conversations and help parties reach mutually-satisfying agreements.
This intensive course is a fusion of lecture and practice; and on the final day, participants even have the opportunity to synthesize their new knowledge by conducting a full mock mediation from start to finish.
Here are a few more comments from our most recent participants:
“I feel so much more confident in handling conflict not only in my profession, but in my life. This work is so important and needed here in our local community and our global community. I’d like to think that I am better equipped to add some peace and understanding to the world around me.”
“I found the course incredibly transformative along with being such a wonderful learning experience. The best 2-week long TED talk ever!”
“This course actually exceeded my expectations and I recommend it whole-heartedly to anyone interested in mediation, conflict resolute or just better communication. Thank you!”
“This course opened my eyes to an entirely new and refreshing style of mediation. As a lawyer, I will use the conflict resolution skills and paradigm shift I have gained from this course to better serve my clients.”
