13th Annual Compete for a Cause Weekend was a Success!
The WDRC recently hosted two of our annual Compete for a Cause events; the 13th Annual Cribbage Tournament and the 6th Annual Wander to Wander 1K. Both events were a success and participants had a ton of fun while raising money for a great cause!
The 13th Annual Compete for a Cause Cribbage Tournament was a smashing success thanks to our tournament host, Boundary Bay Brewery, the 80 cribbage enthusiasts, the concessions and raffle item in-kind donors and our amazing volunteers. Everyone played a great game and essential funds were raised to benefit our mission to provide and promote constructive and collaborative approaches to conflict.
The 2019 Cribbage Tournament champion is Mike Gusta of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Mike was awarded a gift certificate to Boundary Bay, entry fee to an Understanding Conflict workshop at the WDRC, entry to next year’s tournament, a beautiful handmade cribbage board from 3 Moons Maker-Space and his name engraved on the WDRC and Boundary Bay Brewery Winners’ Plaques for posterity.
Thanks to the over 200 runners and wanderers the 6th Annual Wander to Wander 1K was a fun, mad dash or wander to Wander Brewing, raising essential funds to benefit the mission of the Whatcom Dispute Resolution Center to provide and promote constructive and collaborative approaches to conflict. Special thanks to our finish line host, Wander Brewing, our event sponsors, the over 200 participants, the raffle item in-kind donors and our amazing volunteers. We hope to see YOU next year!
