Two of our very own practicum students - Sarah Murphy-Kangas and Laura Todd - will teach an in-service on how coaching skills can sharpen your mediation skills. They’ll introduce some “Magic Questions,” and give participants the chance to practice them. We’ll talk about how the foundations of coaching--being action-oriented, assumption of the client’s resourcefulness, and deep listening—can enhance interactions with WDRC clients. Laura (www.lauratoddcoaching.com) has over 25 years’ experience in leadership development, coaching and training in large companies, non-profit organizations, and entrepreneurial organizations. She helps teams and groups come together through retreats, expert facilitation, and transformative workshops. Laura has an M.A. in Education, Counseling and Guidance, B.A. in Psychology and is certified as a Co-Active Coach. Sarah (www.sarahmurphykangas.com) is an organizational development practitioner, providing coaching, mediation, and group facilitation services to clients. Sarah specializes in helping caregiving organizations find resilience and wholeness in the midst of difficult work. She has an M.A. in Organizational Psychology from Antioch University Seattle and a B.A. in English Literature from the University of Washington.
