The Whatcom Dispute Resolution Center has selected the 2016 Peaceful Poetry Youth Contest recipients. Over 90 poems were submitted, by K-12 Youth throughout Whatcom County.

We are continuing to provide schools in Whatcom County with high quality conflict resolution education at little or no cost, ensuring students are building the skills to navigate complex issues. We have already begun or completed partnerships with a number of schools, including: Columbia Elementary, Cascades Montessori Middle, Meridian Middle, Irene Reither Elementary, and Kulshan Middle, with many more in the works. If you would like to see a school you care about feature a workshop from the Youth Program, there are still available spots for winter and spring.

Read MoreWhatcom Co. - On September 11, 2016, at 11:30 a.m., 278 participants took off to the burst of an airhorn in the 3rd Annual Wander to Wander 1K – a .62 mile “wander or sprint” from Johnny’s Donuts to Wander Brewery during Bellingham Beer Week. This event is the first of its kind in a town renowned for endurance races. All of the $5,466 proceeds benefit an equally unique nonprofit: the Whatcom Dispute Resolution Center and their mission to provide and promote collaborative and constructive approaches to conflict through mediation, training, facilitation, and community education.
